WAGNER industrial liquid coating equipment

WAGNER Cobra 40-10 5-Liter Hopper AirCoat Spray Pack

High-pressure diaphragm-pump performance with low pulsation, efficient color changes, and professional AirCoat atomization.

The WAGNER Cobra 40-10 Hopper Spray Pack combines the innovative Cobra high-pressure double-diaphragm pump with a GM 4700AC manual AirCoat spray gun, 5-liter hopper, AirCoat regulator, hose, and essential system components.

Designed for professional wood, furniture, metal, and industrial finishing, the Cobra 40-10 provides consistent material delivery with extremely low pulsation. Its compact fluid section and low internal material volume support excellent finish quality, efficient flushing, and fast color changes.

Move beyond ordinary pump performance. Put the efficiency and finish quality of the WAGNER Cobra 40-10 to work in your operation.

Cobra 40-10 Performance

  • Pump type: High-pressure pneumatic double-diaphragm pump
  • Pressure ratio: 40:1
  • Maximum material pressure: 3,626 PSI (250 bar)
  • Maximum material delivery: Up to 2 liters per minute
  • Fluid displacement: 10 cc per double stroke
  • Maximum operating speed: 200 double strokes per minute
  • Application technologies: AirCoat and Airless
  • Material supply: 5-liter hopper

Features and Benefits

  • High-pressure double-diaphragm technology: Combines diaphragm-pump material handling with the pressure required for professional AirCoat and Airless applications.
  • Extremely low pulsation: Provides a uniform material flow that supports a consistent spray pattern and excellent surface quality.
  • Small fluid-section volume: Reduces the amount of coating and flushing material retained inside the pump.
  • Efficient color changes: Minimal internal material volume helps shorten flushing cycles and reduce solvent or cleaning-fluid consumption.
  • Long-life diaphragms: Durable diaphragm construction supports dependable operation and reduced maintenance costs.
  • Tungsten-carbide inlet valves: Provide durable sealing surfaces for demanding professional finishing applications.
  • Packing-free fluid section: Eliminates traditional piston-pump packings and the related packing adjustments.
  • Low-shear material handling: Supports the application of compatible shear-sensitive and moisture-sensitive materials.
  • IceBreaker air-motor technology: Helps minimize ice formation and prevent power loss at demanding operating speeds.
  • Integrated relief and circulation valve: Simplifies pressure relief, circulation, flushing, and everyday operation.
  • Flexible pump positioning: The Cobra pump can operate in either a horizontal or vertical position.
  • Multiple material-supply options: Compatible configurations can use a hopper, flexible suction hose, or rigid suction pipe.

GM 4700AC AirCoat Spray Gun

The included WAGNER GM 4700AC is a lightweight manual AirCoat gun designed for comfortable professional operation. WAGNER’s air-guidance system combines controlled fluid pressure with atomizing air to produce a soft, finely atomized spray pattern.

  • Professional atomization: AirCoat technology supports a soft spray pattern and excellent finish quality.
  • Ergonomic handling: Low trigger and holding forces help reduce operator fatigue during extended spraying.
  • Durable construction: The forged gun body provides reliability for demanding production conditions.
  • Application flexibility: Available air caps and nozzles allow the gun to be matched to different compatible materials.

Material Compatibility

The hermetically sealed, low-shear Cobra fluid section supports a wide range of compatible coating materials. Material suitability must always be confirmed for the complete system configuration.

  • Waterborne coatings
  • Solvent-borne coatings
  • Shear-sensitive materials
  • Moisture-sensitive materials
  • Compatible abrasive materials
  • Basecoats
  • Compatible hardeners
  • Premixed plural-component materials
  • Release agents

Recommended Applications

  • Wood and furniture finishing
  • Cabinet and millwork coating
  • Carpentry and joinery operations
  • Industrial metal finishing
  • Machinery and equipment components
  • Agricultural and construction equipment
  • Manual production-coating stations
  • Applications requiring frequent color changes
  • Basecoat and hardener supply
  • Single-station AirCoat finishing

Five-Liter Hopper Material Supply

The included 5-liter hopper provides a compact material supply for smaller production batches, frequent coating changes, and applications where drawing material directly from a larger container is unnecessary.

Because the hopper feeds material directly to the pump, the configuration helps keep the overall system compact and makes material changes and cleaning easier.

Designed for Efficient Color Changes

The Cobra 40-10 uses a small-displacement fluid section with minimal internal dead space. Less coating remains inside the pump when production changes from one color or material to another.

This design can reduce flushing-material consumption, shorten cleaning time, limit wasted coating, and help return the system to production faster.

System Requirements

The Cobra 40-10 Spray Pack requires a properly sized supply of clean, dry, regulated compressed air. Air pressure and volume must support both the pump and the atomizing-air requirements of the GM 4700AC spray gun.

The nozzle, air cap, fluid pressure, atomizing-air pressure, and coating viscosity must be properly matched to the application. All hoses, fittings, regulators, and spray components must be compatible with the coating and rated for the system’s maximum operating pressure.

Always follow current WAGNER instructions covering installation, grounding, ventilation, personal protective equipment, pressure relief, operation, cleaning, and maintenance.
