My Background
I've been in the paints and coatings industry since 1970, working with regional, national, and international paint manufacturers across a wide range of coating technologies and finishing applications.
My experience includes:
- Trade sales and high-solids polyester baking enamels
- Epoxies, urethanes, zinc primers, and corrosion-control coatings
- E-coatings and powder coatings
- Automotive refinish and fleet coatings
- Heavy-duty maintenance coatings
- New construction projects
I've also worked directly with a broad range of professional finishing operations, including:
- Captive OEM product finishing operations
- Independent job shops and e-coat applications
- Painting contractors handling residential, commercial, and industrial work
That range of experience is important because professional finishing is not one market or one application. OEM manufacturers, cabinet and millwork shops, automotive refinishers, industrial coaters, fabricators, contractors, and specialty finishers may use different coatings and equipment, but they often face many of the same fundamental application challenges.
