How to Read a 36-XXX Tip Number

Each C.A. Technologies tip number identifies the spray angle, approximate pattern width, and fluid-orifice size:

• 36- identifies the part as a C.A. Technologies Air Assist Airless tip.
• First digit after the dash identifies the nominal fan angle. Add a zero to determine the angle in degrees.
• The same first digit can be multiplied by 2 to determine the approximate spray-pattern width in inches at about 12 inches from the surface.
• Final two digits identify the orifice size in thousandths of an inch.

Example: 36-207

• “2” indicates a nominal fan angle of 20 degrees.
• “2” multiplied by 2 indicates an approximate 4-inch spray pattern at a distance of about 12 inches.
• “07” indicates a 0.007-inch orifice.
