C.A. Technologies 22-1028 Series 200H HVLP Air Cap
Equip your C.A. Technologies Lynx 200H pressure-feed spray gun with the genuine 22-1028 HVLP air cap. Designed for controlled application of thin, low-viscosity materials, this Series 200H air cap is an excellent choice for inks, dyes, solvents, stains, and similar finishing products.
When the material is thin and control matters, the correct air cap keeps the finish on the work instead of floating through the booth.
Performance Highlights
- Designed for C.A. Technologies Series 200H HVLP spray guns
- Compatible with the Lynx 200H pressure-feed spray gun
- Optimized for thin, low-viscosity coating materials
- Rated at 18 CFM at 29 PSI maximum gun inlet pressure
- Recommended for use with a 1.1 mm fluid nozzle
- Genuine C.A. Technologies replacement air cap
Controlled Atomization for Thin Materials
Thin materials can be difficult to control when the atomizing setup delivers more air or fluid than the application requires. Excessive atomization may increase overspray, create dry spray, and make it harder to maintain an even film.
The C.A. Technologies 22-1028 air cap is designed to provide controlled HVLP atomization for low-viscosity materials. When paired with the recommended 1.1 mm fluid nozzle, matching needle, and properly regulated fluid delivery, it helps produce a clean and manageable spray pattern.
Features
- Series 200H HVLP air cap
- Pressure-feed configuration
- Made for the C.A. Technologies Lynx 200H
- Designed for use with a 1.1 mm fluid nozzle
- Uses 18 CFM at the maximum listed inlet pressure
- Works with the number 2 fan control
- C.A. Technologies part number 22-1028
Benefits
- Control thin coatings: The matched air-cap and nozzle combination helps prevent excessive material delivery.
- Improve atomization: Precision air passages help produce a controlled and uniform spray.
- Maintain pattern consistency: Proper horn air supports an even fan from top to bottom.
- Reduce unnecessary overspray: Correct HVLP setup helps keep more material on the workpiece.
- Restore spray performance: Replacing a worn or damaged cap can correct pattern problems that cleaning cannot solve.
Compatible Spray Gun
- Gun: C.A. Technologies Lynx 200H
- Feed type: Pressure feed
- Technology: HVLP
- Application: Industrial and corrosion-control finishing
Important: Match the air cap to the spray gun model, fluid nozzle, fluid needle, coating viscosity, and desired pattern. Similar air caps may fit the retaining ring but produce different airflow and atomization characteristics.
Recommended Fluid Nozzle and Needle
- Fluid nozzle: 32-0611
- Fluid-orifice size: 1.1 mm or .042 inch
- Matching needle: 40-1211
- Needle marking: 211
The wider Series 200H gun platform accepts additional nozzle sizes, but the manufacturer specifically pairs the 22-1028 air cap with the 1.1 mm nozzle for very thin materials.
Typical Coating Materials
- Inks
- Dyes
- Solvent-based materials
- Wood stains
- Thin penetrating finishes
- Other low-viscosity coatings
Air Requirements
- Air consumption: 18 CFM at 29 PSI
- Maximum gun inlet pressure for HVLP: 29 PSI
- Fan control: 60-1502 number 2
The compressor and air-delivery system must supply the required airflow at the spray gun. Adequate static pressure alone does not guarantee sufficient CFM through undersized hose, restrictive fittings, dirty filters, or inadequate piping.
Set atomizing pressure with the gun triggered and air flowing. Start below the maximum pressure and increase it only until the coating atomizes properly. Do not automatically operate at the maximum pressure when the application requires less air.
Signs an Air Cap Needs Attention
Inspect the air cap when the pattern becomes heavy on one side, split, distorted, inconsistent, or difficult to adjust. Dried coating inside the horn openings or center passages can create many of the same symptoms as a damaged air cap.
Clean blocked passages with the recommended solvent and a nonmetallic air-cap cleaning tool. Never use drill bits, wire, or other hard metal objects that can enlarge or deform the precision openings.
Installation and Setup
Completely relieve air and fluid pressure before removing the existing air cap. Inspect the fluid nozzle, retaining ring, air-cap seating surfaces, and cap openings for coating buildup, wear, or damage.
Install the 22-1028 squarely over the compatible fluid nozzle. Tighten the retaining ring only enough to hold the cap securely while still allowing pattern orientation.
After installation, test the spray pattern and adjust atomizing air, fluid pressure, and fan control for the material being sprayed.
